A tack room at dusk, sandalwood dust settling over worn saddle leather.

Santal 33 is one of Le Labo's best-known scents, created by perfumer Frank Voelkl in 2011. Sandalwood and Virginia cedar sit at its centre, with cardamom, iris and violet at the start and a dry leather and papyrus base. It wears creamy and woody rather than sweet, on anyone. Fragrantica voters rate it for day and night, and least for summer, so in the Philippines it suits air-conditioned days and evenings; a spray or two is enough. New to it? A 2ml is about 20 sprays, a fair week of testing before a 5ml or 10ml.
