Francis Kurkdjian made Baccarat Rouge 540 for the crystal house Baccarat's 250th anniversary; the eau de parfum launched in 2015. Saffron and jasmine open it, over an airy amberwood and ambergris accord, with fir resin and cedar underneath. The house describes its sillage as long-lasting, and it carries, so one or two sprays go far. Voters lean towards evenings and cooler months, though plenty wear it daily in air-conditioning. Some love the glassy sweetness; others find it too much. A 2ml settles that before a bigger size.
